IKEA has brought back its STRÅLA Matchstick LED floor lamp as part of its 2026 holiday lighting collection, according to Apartment Therapy. The 26-inch lamp has glowing red match tips, a wooden pine base and dimmable ambient lighting; current price, sale dates and stock levels were not provided in the report.
IKEA has brought back its STRÅLA Matchstick LED floor lamp for the retailer’s 2026 holiday lighting collection, according to Apartment Therapy, reviving a decorative lamp that the publication says went viral the previous year. The roughly 26-inch-tall lamp has illuminated red match tips and dimmable light, but the report does not give its price or confirm when shoppers can buy it.
The lamp is designed as a small bundle of matchsticks, with red LED-lit tips and a wooden pine base. Though IKEA categorizes it as a floor lamp, its reported height of 26 inches also makes it small enough for some tabletops or other raised surfaces. The red tips are made to glow like lit matches; the lamp uses LEDs rather than burning matches.
Apartment Therapy describes the STRÅLA item as part of IKEA’s limited-time holiday lighting range, which includes decorative products such as paper star lanterns and snowmen. The matchstick design is less conventionally holiday-themed, the publication says, and could be displayed beyond the holiday season. The lamp is also described as dimmable and intended to provide ambient light.
The original report cites positive customer reviews as part of the lamp’s renewed interest. One reviewer called the lamp “mesmerized” — a wording quoted by Apartment Therapy — while another praised its assembly and appearance. These are individual customer opinions, not a guarantee of performance or an IKEA product specification.
A Seasonal Return With Year-Round Appeal
The return gives shoppers who missed the lamp previously another possible chance to find an unusual decorative light. Its matchstick form sets it apart from more familiar seasonal motifs, while the dimming feature and compact size may make it usable as ambient lighting in different rooms. That potential year-round use is an assessment of the design, not a claim that IKEA markets it for every season.
For buyers, the practical issue is whether the lamp is available locally and at what price. The source says the STRÅLA collection is released for a limited time around the holidays and reports that the matchstick lamp sold quickly the previous year. That account may prompt shoppers to check early, but it does not establish current stock or predict how quickly this year’s supply will sell.

The STRÅLA Collection’s Seasonal Cycle
STRÅLA is IKEA’s holiday lighting collection, which the retailer releases around the holiday season. Apartment Therapy says its offerings vary and can include paper lanterns, festive figures and other decorative lighting. The matchstick lamp is one item in that broader collection rather than a standalone announcement of a permanent product line.
The lamp appeared the previous year and attracted attention online, according to the report. IKEA’s decision to bring it back for 2026 is the development being reported. The source does not provide sales figures, the scale of its viral reach or an explanation from IKEA for the return, so the renewed listing should not be taken as evidence of a particular sales result.

Price, Stock and Sale Dates Unreported
Apartment Therapy’s report does not state the lamp’s 2026 price, exact release date, regional availability or whether it can currently be ordered online or found in stores. It also gives no inventory figures. Shoppers should check IKEA’s local product listing or contact a store for current details rather than assume the lamp is available everywhere.
The article reports that the lamp went quickly last year, but provides no sales data or measure of how widespread that demand was. Customer reviews quoted in the report are subjective, and the source does not provide independent testing, technical details such as power specifications, or a statement from IKEA confirming the reasons for the product’s return.

Check Local IKEA Listings
The immediate next step for interested shoppers is to look for the STRÅLA Matchstick LED floor lamp on IKEA’s website for their region or ask a nearby store about availability. Because the collection is described as seasonal and limited-time, listings and stock may vary by location; the report does not give a date for a broader rollout.
Further details to watch for include the local price, delivery or pickup options, and any product information IKEA publishes for the 2026 collection. Until those details are available, the confirmed news is the lamp’s return to the collection, not a specific purchase window or guaranteed supply.
